What a perfect opportunity to compare and contrast different texts for mood and also to look closely at how illustrations work with the text to contribute to the mood of a story. With older students, you could definitely tie this to Tell-Tale Heart. My elementary school music teacher sang The Cat Came Back With Us so it would be cool to connect the song and this book with younger students. As I was reading, I thought of Edgar Allan Poe's Tell-Tale Heart and the song The Cat Came Back. What I Think: Happy Friday the 13th! What a perfect day to celebrate Creepy Pair of Underwear! It's so fun to see Jasper again. But after trying everything to get rid of them, they keep coming back! Jasper’s not scared obviously, he’s just done with creepy underwear.

If Jasper didn’t know any better he’d say his undies were a little, well, creepy. But when the lights go out, suddenly his new big rabbit underwear glows in the dark. He’s not afraid of the dark, and he’s definitely not afraid of something as silly as underwear. GoodReads Summary: Jasper Rabbit is NOT a little bunny anymore. My original book compainion post on my blog can be seen here: First and KInder Blue Skies.Publisher: Simon Schuster Books for Young Readers You can find the new book companion pack HERE on TPT! Don’t forget Creepy Carrots! I plan to post separately later, but here is a brief picture and description. I cannot leave out Aaron Reynolds latest book, Creepy Crayon. Don’t think the pack is just the craft though, it has a ton more included. These creepy little underwears make me so happy! The kids thought they were hilarious and everyone that passes by loves them, too! The best part? They were quick and easy, my favorite type of craft. Find my latest Creepy Pair of Underwear pack HERE ON TPT! I teach kindergarten, so time doesn’t really allow for kids cutting all the pieces. The craft for both turned out super cute so I had to share! Be sure to scroll all the way down the page for another new craft for Creepy Crayon! These crafts are a mix of teacher and student work (if you choose, it can be 100% kids).

Maybe it was the underwear? I got it last year strictly because I love Creepy Carrots so much (Carrot pack is found HERE). Creepy Pair of Underwear by Aaron Reynolds is a book I sort of put off getting for some reason.
